Inspiration
Spring time in the Rockies is rarely like spring time anywhere else. Especially in Wyoming, it almost feels more like an extended winter. People fuss about it a lot. It is hard not to sometimes, but if you greet the day grumpy, it sticks. And I refuse to waste a good day that way.
Today, the temps dropped to near freezing. The gray clouds did not house rain, but snow. Wet, thick, but warm…it never stuck to the grass or the roads. The mountain has a fresh coat of white, however.
I find such inspiration in days like this though. The contrast between the dark sky and the bright grass is beautiful. Nothing like spring time grass. Such a vibrant color from all the rain and snow. The buds on the trees are gone, the wind blew a lot of them away a few days ago. The buds in the garden are gone. The frost overnight took them away. But the green green grass just sings.
The clouds in the sky have such movement. Abstract patterns and shapes dance and move across the horizon. Ever changing, one right after the other. Following infinitely. Just like fractals.
And so on days like today, when others may feel sluggish and want to crawl under the blankets, I want to get up and race to the computer and create. To see if I can replicate the color contrasts movement in shapes. Something fresh.
When the day is done, I do then want to crawl under the blankets. My mind sluggish, my creativity drained in the best of ways. To sip a warm drink, read a good book and just smile.
